HOW DO I GET STARTED?

View our STUDIO CALENDAR to view the various types of events we have to offer - click on the event to join an open paint, specialty workshop, or host a private event.  You can also browse through our projects and select the event type you would like to attend, order a take n make kit or have us paint something for you!

WHAT IS AN OPEN PAINT?

An open paint is an event that is open for the public to attend.  Many of our guests choose this option to create a project in between attending a private party or if they don’t meet minimum guest requirement for a private party.  Check our STUDIO CALENDAR for our next open paint dates. 

 

BUT I AM NOT CRAFTY?  WILL I BE GOOD AT IT?

A million times - YES, YES, & YES! 

We are a user-friendly craft studio and have awesome instructors there to help you. Bring your confidence and remember to have fun with it!  We will guide you every step of the way to create a project you will be proud to hang in your home or give as a gift! 

 

ARE YOU HANDICAP FRIENDLY?

YES, our studio entrance and project tables will allow easy wheelchair access. Please contact us ahead of time, so we can assist you into the studio and if you need any special accommodations!

HOW DO I SELECT MY PROJECT/REGISTER FOR AN EVENT?

First, decide which date works best for you by visiting our REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP PAGE. Please schedule 2 weeks in advance or prior to the registration deadline for the event! We cannot accept late reservations since we need to have time to prepare for your project. This is where you will reserve your seat and select your project.

You can also visit the REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP page (OPEN PAINT, PRIVATE EVENT or SPECIALTY WORKSHOP) and view the projects available for the event you plan to attend. Some designs are customizable (names, dates, etc.) so please indicate those details in the box when asked on your selected event.

WHAT IF I WANT TO MAKE SOMETHING BUT CAN’T ATTEND AN IN-STUDIO EVENT?

We have lots of people who like to do their own thing, therefore you can order a project as a TAKE N MAKE kit to pick up in the studio or have us ship it right to your door.  Simply browse through our projects and select the TAKE N MAKE option and follow prompts to complete check out. 

 

WHAT IF I DONT SEE A PROJECT THAT I WANT TO PAINT?  CUSTOM PROJECT. 

We love to make all your crafty dreams come true! In the event that we have to create a design for you, we do have a custom design fee. If you have a photo for inspiration, please email us at creativeyoudecor@gmail.com.  We always do our best to accommodate our guests' creative interests.  We will follow up with you for clarification, so please check your email!

In the event that we have to create a design for you, we do have a $10 custom design fee.

 

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?

We use natural wood and MDF!

Due to the nature of our materials, you can expect your project to be full of character featuring knots, cracks, chips and other natural blemishes. No 2 pieces will be ALIKE.

We also use premium paints, water-based stains and adhesive stencils to create your own personal masterpiece!

 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN I COME TO PAINT?

Although we supply aprons for guests when they are painting, we highly recommend wearing clothes that you won't worry about getting paint spilled on.  We are NOT responsible for any damage to clothing, shoes, purses and so forth that are brought in our paint studio space. Thanks for planning ahead! 

 

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A PRIVATE PAINT PARTY?

For Private Paint Parties, there is NO fee to host the event. Instead, each guest would just pay for their selected projects individually via a private link supplied to the party host. For private events we do require a minimum of 8 paid guests attend.  If you want to bring a group in but you don’t have enough to satisfy the minimum requirement, then we could slot your group into our next open paint event. Email Angela with your potential date/time at creativeyoudoor@gmail.com and she will get back to you to confirm.


CAN WE BRING IN OUR OWN FOOD AND BEVERAGES?

You may bring your favorite food and drinks to enjoy during your paint party! Alcohol is allowed and may be consumed by those who are age 21 and over.  Please remember to supply your own plates, cups, napkins and silverware.  We do have a wine/bottle opener on hand as well as an outlet if guests plan to bring a crockpot. 

 

HOW LONG DOES A PAINT PARTY TAKE?

Typical parties take about 2-2.5 hours long. For evening events, we give a last call at 8:30pm and ask that you wrap things up by 9pm.

In the case that you haven’t finished, we can hold your project for up to 30 days for you to complete. We can either fit you in at one of our open events if you let us know 24 hours ahead of time or we can package the project for you to complete at home. 

 

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?

Of course! Children are allowed at any event that is NOT labeled for age 16+.  We do ask that if you are allowing your child to paint with you at an adult event, you will be responsible for helping your child complete their project.  If it is a scheduled kid's event, we plan ahead with additional staff to provide instructions for our smaller guests. 

Please let us know ahead of time if you are bringing a child to an event and let your private party know our rules in regard to minors and present alcohol. 

 

CAN WE BRING ALCHOHOL WITH US?

Yes! You are allowed to bring your own drinks with you. Unfortunately, in the case that there are minors around, you will be asked to remove whatever alcohol you brought from the premise.

Although we love to have a sip or 2 of wine ourselves, we do ask that you be mindful of how much you consume. It’s a difficult situation to defuse and awkward for everyone involved. 

 

WHICH PROJECTS CAN I COMPLETE AT HOME?

ANY of our projects can be packed up into a TAKE N MAKE kit! Processing time is about 1 week, and you will be notified when ready.

 

CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN PAINT COLORS FOR TAKE N MAKE PROJECTS?

You can choose up to 3 paint colors, which you can select in the options and notes at checkout. Additional colors may be selected for $1.50 each and can be added during check out process. **Be sure to specify which color is the background color so we can give you a bit more of that color!

 

CAN I ORDER A FINISHED PROJECT? I DON’T WANT TO PAINT IT MYSELF. 

Yes! For an additional fee, we'll paint it for you! Simply choose the "PAINT IT FOR ME” option at checkout. We will paint the project as pictured in the photo listing unless you request otherwise. 

We charge $15 for our expert painting services and know you will be happy with the results. 

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE A COMPLETED PROJECT?

All finished projects are custom painted once the order is placed. The time frame to complete is typically 10-14 business days. You will be notified when ready to pick up! If you need a project sooner, please reach out to us ahead of time at creativeyoudecor@gmail.com to discuss timeframe before placing your order. 

 

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY?

If unforeseen circumstances require you to cancel, we offer several options for you to complete your project. Since your design is pre-made, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund.

We are willing to hold your project for up to 60 days, and you may call or email to see if we can fit you into one of our open events or we are happy to package it as a Take N Make kit for you to complete at home. If your project is not painted in studio or claimed within 60 days of the original event date, the project and associated fees will be forfeited.  

YOU MAY NOT COMPLETE THE PROJECT AT A PRIVATE FUTURE PAINT EVENT TAKING UP A PAID SPOT.
